So here I am, with plenty of school work to do, and I've decided to create a blog...good choice, right? Well, life is pretty topsy-turvy right now with courses and student teaching so I thought I could use somewhere to put my thoughts. Some may have suggested a journal, but I'm being efficient because typing is faster than writing.
Just to start off--I am trying to get plenty of sleep right now, before the rest of my classes start tomorrow, because I know I am going to be swamped with work! I am not sure if this is a good or a bad thing, because I may be training my body that it needs more sleep, and then when I don't get that sleep I could be regretting this time. But, right now it's great.
Also, a little pick me up occurred today with a student; I was helping a pair of students with observations about a insect flash card (they are learning how to be scientific thinkers--to look at the obvious characteristics and beyond) and the girl looked at me and asked "are you a student teacher?" uh oh, I thought, what did I do that wasn't right?! "Yes, I am," I said. "well then," the girl replied, "that makes you the first one I've ever liked." SCORE! So what if it was only day 3 and I really haven't done any teaching, I've got one fan.
So that was a good feeling.
Thats all for now, I need to work on a homework assignment....
